Sledmere House Garden

An eighteenth century house with park and garden. The Serpentine park was designed by Lancelot Capability Brown in 1777 and the plan survives in the house. It shows the classic enclosing tree belt, lake and  circular clumps. The garden has a paved sculpture court (1911) and a recently made knot garden (visible if you zoom in on the satellite image on the map below).
