This 3 acre garden offers interest from April to October, with early bulbs, herbaceous borders, a trellis covered with roses and clematis, shrubs and trees. There is a large natural pond, waterways through the marsh, a low-lying jungle and bog garden.
The garden lies in a former tidal creek, but in the 1960s a great deal of in-filling was done in a bid to stop annual flooding. Originally a small-holding, planting has been continuous since 1988.
Liriodendron chinense, Tilia petiolaris, Taxodium distichum, Catalpa bignonoides, magnolias, acers and Monterey pines are now mature trees. Shrubs include Poncirus trifoliata, Osmanthus burkwoodii, Pittosporum tobira, hydrangeas and cornus.
