Built in 1735, Kingston House is rich in history and many of the original features survive. The Kingston Estate has extensive grounds and gardens. The formal gardens include a Court Garden with authentic eighteenth century planting, Rose Garden (best in June/July), Walled Garden and Walled Vegetable Gardens. Produce from from the kitchen gardens and orchards are used in the hotel dining room. The hotel gardens themselves are open 4 times a year under the NGS. Kingston House is a good base for visiting a number of gardens including Dartington Hall Garden (4 miles), Overbeck's Museum and Garden (24 miles) and Castle Drogo Garden (26 miles).
