A Tudor house with a c1700 façade and an Arts and Crafts garden. Like William Morris, the designers, Charles Wade and Baillie Scott, admired the craftsmanship of medieval England. Snowshill has a series of garden enclosures with a wide range of ornaments and imaginative planting. Many of the ornaments are painted 'Wade blue' (a soft powdery blue) which harmonises with the Cotswold stone and the blue/purple planting theme.
