A Tudor castle, made into a house in the eighteenth century, with a serpentine park. Dorothy Stroud comments that 'No documents have come to light but a family tradition ascribes the landscaping of the grounds to Brown'. There is an eighteenth century orangery and a nineteenth century serpentine lake. The Ripley Castle walled garden holds collections of hyacinths and tropical plants.
