Hounslow Civic Centre

A fine modern landscape design with Japanese and Scandinavian affinities, but not always well maintained. The landscape designer, Preben Jakobsen, employed a wide range of plants, combined with smooth stones and ground cover plants. The geometry is Abstract Modern but the concern for textures, plants, materials and detailing draws upon the Arts and Crafts tradition.
