Freiburg im Breisgau, Stadtgarten

The Stadtgarten is a late nineteenth century park. It was destroyed in the bombing in November 1944 and restoration began in 1952. During the annual Festival of Lights (Lichterfest), the park is illuminated with thousands of candles. There are also open air concerts and plays in the summer months.
