Lurie Garden, Milennium Park

The design of the garden is based on the landscape of Chicago - the city's motto is "Urbs in Horto" (City in a Garden). The planting was designed by Piet Oudolf. The garden is planted entirely with perennials. The Shoulder Hedge is a protective screen of Fagus (beech) and Carpinus (hornbeam) and Thuja (arborvitae).
