Burton Constable Hall Garden

The park dates from the 14th century and the house from the 16th century. Lancelot Capability Brown added a Serpentine Style park in the 18th century. The aerial photo from Google (see map below) shows Brown's serpentine lake and circular clumps. The original plan survives. A plant collection was begun by William Constable in 1747 and there were further additions to the garden in the nineteenth century. There is a garden with herbaceous borders near the house.
