Gardens in Greater London, England

118 gardens

Greater London has a higher proportion of devoted gardeners in its population than any other world city. But it has disappointingly few good gardens to visit. Most of London's excellent gardens are in private ownership. The exceptions are Kew Gardens, Hampton Court and Ham House. Visitors to Central London should also visit the Museum of Garden History and Westminster Abbey's Little Cloister.

In addition to the Greater London Garden Finder entries in the list, please see Garden Tours in England for information on tours, self-guided visits tailor-made tours and gardens open to the public. Also, the annual Open Garden Squares weekend is a great opportunity to visit private gardens and squares in London that are not normally open to the public. The dates for 2011 are 11th-12th June.
