Brooklyn Botanic Garden

The former ash dump was designated as a botanic garden in 1897. The central feature of the garden is the Plant Family Collection, arranged in botanical sequence (as recommended in J C Loudon's Encyclopedia of Gardening). There is also a geometrical garden and a Japanese garden.
