Floating Gardens Taizhou Yongning River Park

Kongjian Yu of Turenscape persuaded the Yongning authorities to stop channelizing the river and to remove much of the expensive concrete channel which had already been built. The waste material was used to make 'floating gardens'. It is an ecological and hydrological approach to storm water management and flood control - which has the added advantage of having created a great riverside park for public enjoyment. The Yongning is a tributary of the  Jiaojiang River.
