Ringling Museum of Art Garden

Having made his money in the circus, John Ringling and his wife Mable purchased 20 acres of land on the waterfront in Sarasota in 1911.  They built a Venetian Gothic mansion, known as the Cà d’Zan (meaning "House of John") and a Museum of Art to house their private collection. The Mable Ringling Rose Garden was completed in 1913 - you can see its circular layout if you zoom in on the location map below. The estate is now run by Florida State University.
