Manito Park and Gardens

The old 'Montrose Park' was changed in 1903 to 'Manito Park' meaning 'Spirit of Nature' in the dialect of the Algonquin Native American Tribe. It is a collection of theme gardens including deometrical carpet beds in a sunk garden (designed by John W Duncan), a garden of herbaceous perennials a rose garden and the Nishinomiya Japanese Garden designed by Nagao Sakure.
