Kingwood Center Gardens

A French Provincial house with a garden which is now run as a centre for horticultural education. The plan is influenced by the Arts and Crafts style but the planting and construction detailing create an American character.

History

Constructed in 1926 for industrialist Charles Kelley King the gardens were designed by the landscape architecture firm of Pitken and Mott. While Kingwood Center is not primarily an historic garden the featured garden of Pitken and Mott's design retains much of its original historic fabric. We aspire to perform an historic restoration to this garden but currently lack the funds. Elements of the Arts & Crafts are in evidence throughout this particular garden. Most all other gardens at Kingwood Center are new since Mr. King's time.

900 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio, USA, OH 44906

All year, except Christmas. Open April through October 8am to dusk. Open November through March 8am to 5pm.
