Bijapur Ibrahim Rauza

The Ibrahim Rauza is the garden tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah (1580-1627). Sometimes called the 'Black Taj Mahal' it is also a tomb garden. Bijapur was established in the 10th-11th centuries CE by the Chalukyas and flourished under the Adil Shahi dynasty (1490-1686). The citadel, the fort and the remains of the city survive. See style diagram 15 on the chart of Asian garden design styles.
