Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate Garden

Henry Clay, a patriot and politician, lived at Ashland from 1809 to 1852 and ran a large estate. His son James rebuilt the house and remodelled the garden after 1852. His work fell into decay and a re-created garden was made in 1951, more in the style of the 1930s than the nineteenth century.
