Anderson Gardens

John Anderson, inspired by the Japanese Garden in Washington Park, decided to make a comparable garden in Rockford and asked its former director, Hoichi Kurisu, to undertake the design. It is in the style of the Kamakura period (see note on the timeline of Japanese garden design - periods in Japanese art).
