Alaska Botanical Garden

The botanic garden is in birch woodland and demonstrates that it IS possible for flowering plants to flourish in Alaska, Over 1,100 species of hardy perennials, and 150 native plant species grow in the garden. Volunteers help maintain the garden. Visitors are particularly interested in seeing Alaskan native plants. The Arctic flowering period is from May through September.
