Previous - Next

Fujimura Yoken built the garden of the Seiho-In in the temple of Kuroda at Kioto. At the end of the sixteenth century Katagiri Katsumoto, by the command of Hideyoshi, constructed the garden of Chikubushima and that of Eizan-no-Sato-no-Bo in the temple of Jizoji. Also belonging to this period was the small but artistical arranged temple garden called Tokusui-In which surrounds the Hiun-Kaku,a pavilion in the grounds of the temple of Nishi Hongwanji at Kioto.
