The referene is to 'a great city called Boyar' but it seems likely that this was Bukhara - Boyar is a term used for the highest rank of the Russian aristocracy. Identification of the city described in the next section as Bukhara fits with his subsequent description of crossing the River Oxus. He does not seem to have returned via Shakhrisabz and Termez.}
