2. German Gardening, in respect to Botanic Gardens, and the Culture of flowers and Plants of Ornament 372. Floriculture was but little attended to in Germany previously to the introduction of botanic gardens; but, on the establishment of these, plants of ornament were eagerly sought after in most of them; and the taste gradually extended, and continues to spread, among wealthy individuals.
