Shaftesbury, Third Earl of

The Third Earl of Shaftesbury had John Locke as a tutor and became a philosopher. His essays were published as Characteristics of Men, Manners, Opinions Times, in 1711. He was a Neoplatonist and believed that man possess a moral sense.
