An English landscape architect. Marjorie Allen studied at Reading University and served as Vice President of the Institute of Landscape Architects from 1939-1946. During this time she became a firm friend of Susan and Geoffrey Jellicoe. Lady Allen and Susan Jellicoe published a book on the New Small Garden in 1956 but Lady Allen's strongest interest was children's play. Marjorie Allen was Founder President of the the World Organisation for Early Childbood Education and wrote an influential book on Adventure Playgrounds in 1954.
