An American garden designer. Already a keen gardener, she took up professional design work after her marriage failed. Charles Platt helped and encouraged her, giving her planting design work. In 1920 she moved to New York and set up her own office. Its work continued until her death and she employed many landscape graduates the Lowthorpe School of Landscape Architecture, Gardening, and Horticulture for Women.
