    Having walked around the Park this week [w/c 02/08] I was saddened by the inexoribly boring planting. One type of tree used throughout-Metasequioa, and huge blocks of fairly dreary functional plantings..municipality at its worst !
    And then there were the chest high water tanks clad in a sort of cobble..how peculiar were they ? The one good thing was the quality of turf..excellent and weed free.
    Why do landscape architects have to reduce the range of plantsused to the utmost minimum..its boring !

    You are not quite right. Jubilee Park was designed by Jacques Wirtz's sons, not by the old boy. I was knowing one of them at college in Belgium and design talent is one thing he did not have!
