Bronze water basins

In addition to the above, Bronze Basins,�some vase-shaped (see Fig. 16), some bowl-shaped, and some in the form of an urn with a small tap and bronze lid,� are often used. These are generally placed upon a high rock or stone. The "Hand-pail Basin" (Teoke-gata) is a small tub of white wood, provided with a lid, with a little brass tap in the side for serving the water. Such Basins are used in connection with the simpler class of buildings, and are hung from the roof eaves; they can hardly, therefore, be properly classed as garden ornaments.
