At daylight on Monday the vessel was between two islands, the one called Corsica, where there is a castle named Bonifacio, in possession of a Genoese, and the other Sardinia, where there is a castle belonging to the Catalonians named Luecigosardo {Longosardo}. These castles on the two islands are near the sea, the one opposite the other; and the strait between them, which is narrow and dangerous, is called in those parts the strait of Bonifacio.
