Montreal botanic garden

A botanic garden at Montreal was established in 1832, and it is described as having had at first the appearance of a park, and to have been somewhat neglected; but being afterwards placed in the hands of S. Guilbault and Co., who sold plants and seeds, it began to thrive, and in the course of the following year a greenhouse was erected.
