The culture of flowers and plants of ornament is very general in Germany among the wealthy; and the forcing of flowers, during the winter season, is perhaps as far as, or farther advanced than in Britain. In the propagation of rare greenhouse and hothouse plants the German gardeners are not equal to those of Britain.
