128.The flowers and plants of ornament supplied by Italy to Britain are chiefly orange and lemon trees from Genoa and Leghorn. A few bulbs of Narcissi and other flowers are also imported; and within the last twenty years the tuberose has been grown for this purpose. The seeds of balsams, carnations, French and African marigolds, and a few other ornamental flowering plants, are also sent to England.
