In those states of society, where agriculture is chiefly followed, and where property continues much divided, the useful branches of gardening will be generally practised and, much improved, but not gardening as an art of design and taste. Wholesome culinary vegetables will be enjoyed by all classes, and agreeable fruits by most of the inhabitants. Switzerland may be referred to as an example.
