Bantry House

Bantry House & Garden offers ensuite accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis in the summer months, please check our website for opening and closing dates. The guest accommodation consists of 6 double/twin rooms situated in the east wing of the house, and one family suite in the west wing. All rooms overlook the Italianate Garden, with the wisteria circle and fountain. There is a private guest lounge and bar area, with log fire and billiard table.

Self catering accommodation is also provided in the unique town Gatelodge situated at the beginning of the avenue to Bantry House. It has 2 bedrooms (one twin and one double) and 2 bathrooms with an enclosed garden courtyard, this can be rented on a weekly basis.

Bantry House has a tearoom in the west wing of the house where visitors can sample high quality local produce. The walled garden of the estate provides salads and herbs to the tearoom.

Our accommodation is a perfect base for groups/clubs interested in gardens and history as West Cork provides a plethora of visits to internationally recognised areas of beauty. Our accommodation for groups can be reserved throughout the year.

Of course all our guests have complimentary self guided tours of the House & Garden during their visit. Tours of the garden with one the gardeners can be arranged on request for an additional fee. The owners of the house, Egerton and Brigitte Shelswell-White, live in the house and it is now managed by their daughter Sophie. They are often around to welcome our guests and provide them with a personal insight into living in such a beautiful place. This all makes for our guests, not just an overnight stay, but a totally unique and unforgettable experience.
