New York Botanical Garden

Inspired by Kew Gardens in London, the NYBG is both a public pleasure garden and a research institution. The large Victorian conservatory, by Lord and Burnaham, has been restored. A herb garden designed by Penelope Hobhouse was a modern addition. The central area is woodland and there are varied plant collections in peripheral zones.
