Go to Ventnor Botanic Garden
This has become a really fascinating garden, good enough to rival Tresco with it's subtropical plantings, but the highlights of the garden are the Mediterranean plantings, not just of plants from the region but of plants from these kinds of climatic regions around the world e.g. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. The self-sown wildness of the Mediterranean garden is a tribute to the forward-thinking horticultural practices of the Curator and his staff. Australia is a triumph of imagination and skill-faux rock has been constructed around scrap vehicles and clad from top to bottom with Eucalypts, Leptospermums and more. The achievements over the whole site on a small budget by this team are superb. Go and see it!
