Go to Trentham Gardens
My husband and I took our two children to trentham gardens (5 & 8 yrs) for the day during summer holiday, and they loved it. We went on the boat, train and they especially loved the novelty of the bare foot walk, which was fun for us watching them. Lovely kids playground and different types of gardens to explore. We took a picnic. Woodland walks and den area to play in. Bit of a shopping experience for my indulgence at the end. Must say, its not cheap, but then what family day out is? (when you compare to the theme parks, this is cheaper). We also tried the monkey forest, and the kids found boring after 15 mins, so this was a waste of money for us. Really dissappointed as we thought this would be the best bit. Recommend the gardens only, but do each on separate day, as trentham gardens needs a day on its own to be leisurely.

(4.0/5)rubbish they rip u off

(1.0/5)I went to Trentham gardens in the summer and had a picnic by the lake with my mum and brother. We kept on getting swarmed by the ducks which was sweet it was a really hot day so we all went and stood by the ice cold water fountain. Great day.

(5.0/5)Great day out. Lovely gardens, beautiful lake, shops, monkeys; you name it. Amused by the single bad review out below, which relates to a trip to the garden centre by someone who doesn't like garden centres. Even that has the Duchess of Sutherland's cottage at the back of it!

(5.0/5)I think the gardens are brilliant, Its great for a day out with the family and there are loads of activiteys aswell, such as, boat riding, train ride, fishing, and others.
I was dissopointed with the food there because it took ages to come and was abit small.Once it was like a peiace of slope errrrr.
But i have had very good bike rides and long walks there witch was nice and its just great family fun.

(4.0/5)I last went to Trentham Gardens when I was about 5 or 6 years old back in the early 80's and it was really neglected back then. So when I went this weekend I was pleasantly suprised. The garden centre and shopping village were very impressive and the main gardens have had extensive work done to them. I had a really good day out pottering about the shops and gardens and I'd definately recommend a visit.

(5.0/5)A Fantastic day out ,food is very good value for money.gardens and shops are all displayed beautifull. the staff are all very helpfull.

(4.0/5)Trentham used to be one of England's great gardens. Then it went through a really bad period of neglect. Now it has an interesting planting design (I think by Tom Stuart Smith) and it is on course to recover its place in the pecking order of garden designs.

(4.0/5)Overpriced rubbish on sale in the main building which is the 'Garden Centre' If you want to pay £100 or more for a piece of wood tacked onto a metal base then be my guest.
Had dinner in the 'Italian Restaurant' received a small lasagne which was just slop in a bowl that has been microwaved, it made me feel sick. Oh and they put a small salad with it. I had a better lasagne ready meal from Asda 2 days after eating here, it was tastier and a lot bigger.
Oh, and the staff all run around the centre like headless chickens with their walkie talkies on the highest volume possible - weird !!
A complete rip off day out - Avoid !!

(1.0/5)Great for a family day and flower garden is lovely in the summer!
