A woodland garden with 3 small lakes, a bog garden and a scree garden. It was created by Dr James Smart, who moved to Marwood in 1949. The garden has 3 National Collections - Astilbes, Japanese Iris and Tulbaghia.

Definitely a garden to put on your wish list! Stunning collection of specimen trees and wonderful autumn colours ... and September isn't even the best time of year to visit!

(5.0/5)I visited this garden with a friend about ten years ago and took some wonderful photographs. I had forgotten where it was until I found it in the RHS Guide of Gardens to visit.
It was a wonderful experience, one of the most beautiful in the country and I'm looking forward to visiting it again in the very near future.
