Churchill Gardens is a large 'housing estate' in Pimlico. Designed by Powell and Moya (1946-1962). It exemplifies the ideals of the 1943-4 County of London Plan, to rebuild London as a more 'efficient' city with airy blocks of flats separated by tree-filled lawns, described as 'landscaping'. The estate is now a conservation area but is more likely to be of interest to architects and planners than to garden designers.
Churchill Gardens is on the London Gardens Walk and included in the eBook guide to the London Gardens Walk
