West Stoke is a pale stone Georgian House, though parts of the building date back to the time of the Norman Conquest, set in 5 acres of gardens at the edge of the Downs. The grounds include a 300 year old Lebanese Cedar Wood, croquet lawn, wildflower meadow and a number of sculptures. The restaurant is excellent. The menu is a fusion of British and French cuisines. West Dean Gardens are only 6 miles away. Petworth House Garden is 18 miles away.
