PowderMills Hotel

The PowderMills is a listed eighteenth century house, situated below a large 7 acres lake used in the manufacture of gunpowder until 1872. There are 150 acres of woods, lakes and parkland with many specimen trees, adjoining the battlefield of 1066. Country trails, a nature reserve and a small organic farm producing herbs, eggs, poultry, beef and pork for the hotel. Gardens to visit while staying at PowderMills Hotel include Great Dixter Garden (15 miles), Sissinghurst Garden (20 miles) and Bateman's Garden (16 miles) and Herstmonceux Castle Garden (7 miles).
