Built in 1543 for the Archbishop of Tours, Chateau d'Esclimont is a moated chateau set in 150 acres of parkland. Chateau d'Esclimont is about an hour's drive south of Paris. Gardens to visit while staying at Chateau d'Esclimont include Masion Picassiette, Chateau de Versailles and Chateau de Rambouillet.

  A wonderful place to stay ! The gardens or rather grounds are pleasant and spacious with a moat on which one can row a boat-it's fun...I've done it. The gardens as such are just the main lawn facing east. Not much.
  The hotel is charming ,gracious and well worth a stop for a couple of nights. They occasionally put on Concerts and Dinners..lovely events !
