Tokyo Midtown was completed in 2007, with the tallest building in Tokyo and a mass of office, residential, commercial, and leisure space, one km from the Roppongi Hills complex.The architects were Nikken Sekkei and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and the landscape architects for the surrounding public park were EDAW Inc (a US and international firm). The Design Sight 21_21 gallery/workshop, on the edge of the park was designed by Tadao Ando in style which is characteristically modern and recognizably Japanese. The park itself is more western than Japanese, despite the cherry trees.
