Shrubland Park

A nineteenth century house and garden. The garden, designed by Charles Barry and modified by William Robinson is a prime example of the Italian Style in England. A central axis projects from a terrace in front of the house down a hill to a logia. The garden is well-cared for and original features are being restored. They include: a Grand Descent, a Green Terrace, a Fountain, a Loggia, a Dell and Wild Garden, a Witches Circle, a Swiss Chalet, a Conservatory an Ice House and a Box Maze. The estate was sold in 2006 and is not open to the public.
