Queen Emma Summer Palace Garden

Queen Emma Na'ea, born in 1836, was the wife of King Kamehameha IV, the daughter of Hawaiian chieftains and the Englishman, John Young, who became an advisor to King Kamehameha I. Queen Emma's summer palace is part Victorian and part Hawaiian. The garden was designed by a Danish garden designer, H Augustus Holstein, but like the palace is part-English and part-Hawaiian.
