Lyman Estate - The Vale Garden

The Vale garden was originally designed by an English gardener (William Bell) and inspired by English naturalistic design. It evolved into a Mixed Style Victorian gardens with rhododendrons, azaleas and specimen trees. It looks as though the owners possessed a copy of J C Loudon's Encyclopedia of Gardening. There is a notable range of greenhouses including the Grape House (1804) and the Camellia House (1820).
