La Purisima Mission State Historic Park

Mission La Purisima Concepcion de Maria Santisima was founded in 1787 by Franciscan Padre Presidente Fermin Francisco Lasuen and moved to its current site after the buildings were destroyed by an earthquake in 1812. The mission is now a state park of 1,928 acres. The 5 acre garden is planted with plants typical of a mission garden, including a re-created medieval herb garden.
