Scottish gardens are famous for their clear air and profuse flowers, partly because the growing season is compressed. In addition to these gardens that are regularly open to the public, Scotland's Gardens Scheme facilitates the opening of mostly private gardens, normally inaccessible, to the public as a means of raising money for a selection of charities.
