California Academy of Sciences

The new California Academy of of Sciences building opened on 17th September 2008. The sustainable design includes a wonderful 2.5 acre living roof and 60,000 photovoltaic cells. There is also a garden, aviary and four story living tropical rainforest enclosed in a glass dome.
