Temple of Heaven

Now a beautiful and popular Beijing park, this was once a sacred space accessible only to the Emperor of China. It was the place where the Son of Heaven sacrificed to his divine ancestors and requested their blessing on himself, his family and the vast empire ove which he reigned.
