I'm not sure what planet the previous reviewer was from, but the Mission and its small garden is worth a visit. The garden itself is small and you can't even really walk through it, you can walk through the cemetery which is not as well kept as it used to be. The mission is close to the Botanic Garden and Rocky Nook Park, which are both worth seeing as well.

(4.0/5)If you have the chance to visit this old european monastery in the middle of California go and read the history of what happened when the Spanish "educated" the Indians and the settlers came and "civilized" the country; you see this little quiet lovely garden yard with its palms and roses, it seems so peaceful a place of culture; then you read how Indian "pupils" tried to get rid of their sadistic teachers and that large parts of California "wilderness" before the europeans used to be a huge and very carefully maintained landscape garden nourishing hundreds of tribes. "Civilization" is about to burn down the rest of it...
