Santa Barbara Mission Garden

Established in 1786 and known as the Queen of Missions. The exterior of Santa Barbara is in good condition. The garden is peaceful and not unlike the  European cloister gardens from which its form derives. Current use of the courtyard space may in fact be closer to that of medieval cloisters than that of surviving cloisters in Europe (which are often either lawns or parterres). The gardens ares also used as a wedding reception venue.
